After an exciting voting and with millions of TV viewers the Eurovision 2011 concluded Saturday night with a victory for Azerbaijan. The song still goes on in our heads I’m running, I’m scrared tonight…
With MyTVBuddy we witnessed the show from the first row. We had logins from all over Europe, voting on the performing artists and sharing messages on a colourful chat.
We would like to thank everyone that checked-in to be part of the first iPad app that gives TV a social touch on a European scale.
Thanks and see you soon!
Feel free to get in touch with us via the contact page.
After the second semi-final yesterday, we know all the artists for the big final this Saturday. Most results were expected with a few surprises as Israel and The Netherlands didn’t make it to the final.
We can feel the passion the app brings to the Eurovision show!
No surprise on the other hand, MyTVBuddy was at the Euro-spectacle as well. The first user feedback we get is very positive and we feel the growing passion the app brings to the Eurovision show.
The live chat was the place to discuss the live performances or the extravagant artist’s outfits. The user voting was again a good predictor of the official rankings. The international audience connecting through the iPad app was visualised on the integrated map.

The first semi-final of Eurovision 2011 was a massive TV-moment. Out of the 19 entries, 10 countries will go through to the finals this Saturday. The points were a shared result of half televoting, half national expert juries.
MyTVBuddy turned out to be the perfect predictor for the end-result. The user ranking scored an amazing 8 out of 10 countries that made it to the finals.
With MyTVBuddy users could follow the event as if they were live in Düsseldorf. Rate countries, live twittering from and to the performing artists, check user locations and an open international chat to discuss performances with different nationalities.
Tune in on MyTVBuddy for the next semi-final on Thursday 12 May 2011 and see for yourself. Semi-final 2 is open for everyone!
